I’m sure you’re instrumental to growing an awesome GN/manga collection. It’s great to hear school libraries have them – when I was a teen (ah, the fatal words), people thought they were trashy et cetera. Then GNs started winning literary awards (legitimacy!). It’s a great thing for readers.

I know right? Everyone knows Maus but the others are as good, am glad you found it interesting. The books are all in my personal collection but I have ordered several copies for my library. My school library manga/GN collection is still tiny but growing. Other schools do have comic collections of varying sizes.

I hadn’t heard of any of these (except Maus, of course!). I’d especially like to read Eric Heuvel’s books, and am quite enamoured of visual references to Herge – very clever.

Very interesting – thanks for this!

I assume, based on this post, that the school library at which you work has a graphic novel/manga collection. Do most school libraries have collections like that?
